My mom and I stayed here while visiting point pleasant and it was great! After a long drive from Pennsylvania the staff was super welcoming and helpful. They called us to let us know our room was ready cause we arrived early. There was a nice patio and a private beach. The neighborhood was beautiful and quiet. Only a 5 minute walk for the Local Urban Kitchen which has an amazing menu and a great staff as well. You could also go right down the road and get to the boardwalk in less than 5 minutes. I'd really like to stay here again in another trip to the shore.
The Driftwood Motel was like finding a diamond in the rough. We only stayed one night and wish we could have stayed for the entire week! It's right on the beach and it's private and very relaxing. The pool is very refreshing and clean. It was short walk away from the boardwalk and restaurants which allowed for a quiet and relaxing night once we were back to our room. If you have any questions Betty Ann is the one to ask. She helped us the entire stay and was there for anything that we needed. We are definitely coming back soon!
Cons: there was no hair dryer or coffee maker in the room and too few conveniently located electric outlets. We brought our own so no big deal. There is an additional charge of about $10 per person to use the facilities pass check out time and we did have to move our car to the street to park but that was really not a big deal either.
I would definitely recommend the Driftwood for a family vacation.
My whole family and friends went to the driftwood motel for two weeks in August every year since I was 16 to age 40!!! Wonderful place to stay. Family oriented and beautiful ocean view from the top room. We called it the penthouse,.
Cleanest, safest, most economical motel in Point Pleasant, period. Need something? Just look around for Betty Ann, whom you'll find in a minute or two, and your needs are taken care of. Just spent a week there with my 7-year-old and had the greatest time! Rooms and pool (heated) are immaculate and look just like they do on The Driftwood's website. No gimmicks here! Right on the (private) beach, w/lifeguard and about a 5 minute walk to the boardwalk. Snack bar in the complex that has the best Taylor Ham, Egg & Cheese sandwiches in NJ!...also open all day for lunch and snacks. Have a cocktail (bring your own choice) or smoke a nice cigar out on the patio/deck area, located right in the middle of the complex. Very safe and you'll find no riff-raff at The Driftwood. Families you'll be friends with by the end of your stay! Overall, 5-Star accommodations and service for a motel down at the Jersey Shore! Never going anywhere else! It'll be back to The Driftwood for me next time I head down the shore!!
I only stayed for one night but I will go back again. The room was very clean and literally steps from the beach. There was a mini fridge which was nice. The driftwood has a lovely patio that goes right onto the beach and a lovely pool. The private beach is great and situated in more of a residential area so even the adjacent beach areas were not crowded. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. We could walk to the boardwalk and restaurants which was also a plus.
